Heaven

Deakan and his buddy Corey who is his same age were in the back seat while we were driving home from school on a nice sunny day. We had the windows down and they started talking about things blowing away like houses and dogs. Corey said "You are going to blow away Deakan." Deakan replied "if I blow away I want to blow all the way to Jesus." "Jesus lives in the clouds." said Corey. "No he doesn't he lives past the clouds, past outer space and the other worlds to where God is, but when you pray we can feel him right next to you."

Santa

We have been playing a lot of Santa clause latly. Deakan told me to come and sit on his lap and tell him what I want for Christmas. So I went over and sat on his lap and told him I wanted maverick to be a good boy. Mav had made some poor choices that evening so I guess I was venting. Deakan looked at me and said "that's something you need to talk to Jesus about, I'm Santa and I can bring you a puppy." wise words from a four year old :)

Stayner

The other day I heard Deakan call Maverik "Maverik Stayner." I told him that Maverik's middle name is Dean and Hampton's middle name is Stayner. Deakan said no, Mav is being naughty so he's a Stayner. I thought to myself has he heard Aunt Susan call Hampers "Hampton Stayener" when he is naughty. A few days later it came up again, he told me that someone else was being a "Stayner" it finally hit me, do you mean a "Sinner?" Yea mom when we are naughty we are "Stinners." Silly boy get's a little confused with his vocabulary sometimes.

Oh dear

Let's see how did this start?
Oh yes, Susan and Hampton came over this afternoon to play with us. The boys were upstairs being loud wich woke up Mavers. Susan and I went upstairs to relieve Mavers from his baby cage so he could play with the boys. We ended up sitting down in Maver's room and chatting. A few minutes later I hear Deakan in the bathroom talking.
Deakan what are you doing?
I'm going poopies mom.
Oh ok let me know when your ready to get wiped.
I'm not done yet. Mom. I let some toots out in my panties and now there is dust in there.
WHAT?
It's ok mom, I didn't poop. I just let some toots out and it left some dust in my unders. We can get some new ones.
Uh it looks to me like you didn't wipe last time you went poopies.

And then I remember that I had to run to the church and Ben wasn't home yet so I had a 10 year old boy come over to play with Deakan for a few minutes until Ben got there and apparently Deakan had to take a "poopie" and 10 year old boy babysitters are not prepaired to wipe other little boy bums quite yet.
So we changed the "dusty" unders and from now on there will be no talk of  "skid marks" at our house, they are just "dusty!"

Mean mom

In all seriousness, Deakan told me he didn't love me today. He left his "woof woof" upstairs and he wanted me to get it for him. I told him that he left it up there so he needed to go get it. This went on for a few minutes and then he told me he didn't love me. Even though it was short lived, it hurt. It is going to be hard to give this boy the tough love that he will need as he grows up with out breaking my own heart. Wish me luck~

Bless the food

It was time to bless our dinner and Deakan voulenteered to say the prayer. This is how he started.
"Heavenly father, bless that I can buy a car...  and learn how to drive."

He's 3! Are we going to start this already?

#2

I was in the hall with Maverik today during church. Deakan told Ben he needed to go potty. Ben took him to the restroom and waited patiently. Deakan then told him he didn't need to go anymore. So, they left and carried on with two more hours of church. After we got in the car to go home Deakan said. "Dad, I still have to go potty. I have a big poop and I didn't want to do it at church." Ben said ok son we are on our way home. Deakan proceeded to say "it is such a big poop it's mean and it has eyes." I have no idea where that came from. But it's nice to know he has such good control.
