Mean mom

In all seriousness, Deakan told me he didn't love me today. He left his "woof woof" upstairs and he wanted me to get it for him. I told him that he left it up there so he needed to go get it. This went on for a few minutes and then he told me he didn't love me. Even though it was short lived, it hurt. It is going to be hard to give this boy the tough love that he will need as he grows up with out breaking my own heart. Wish me luck~

Bless the food

It was time to bless our dinner and Deakan voulenteered to say the prayer. This is how he started.
"Heavenly father, bless that I can buy a car...  and learn how to drive."

He's 3! Are we going to start this already?

#2

I was in the hall with Maverik today during church. Deakan told Ben he needed to go potty. Ben took him to the restroom and waited patiently. Deakan then told him he didn't need to go anymore. So, they left and carried on with two more hours of church. After we got in the car to go home Deakan said. "Dad, I still have to go potty. I have a big poop and I didn't want to do it at church." Ben said ok son we are on our way home. Deakan proceeded to say "it is such a big poop it's mean and it has eyes." I have no idea where that came from. But it's nice to know he has such good control.

Damage

One of Maverik's favorite pass times is to get under our bathroom sink. He pulls out a roll of toilet paper and then unwraps it like a Christmas present. Once he gets the wrapping off he unrolls the toilet paper and drags it around behind him like streamers.
Deakan is very good about pointing out when Mavers is getting into something he shouldn't. Deakan came into the family room and said "Mom, Mavers is tearing up the toilet paper again." I was busy doing something so I asked Deakan to take away the roll of toilet paper and throw away the paper left on the floor. Deakan said OK mom and took off. He came back seconds later and said "Mom the damage is too much, I can't do it alone." I started to laugh so hard that he knew he had said something really funny.
Less than an hour later. Deakan comes to me "Mom Mavers is in Daddy's garbage can and he's eating chips from the garbage. I again said "go take the chips away from him." Deakan says "Mom there is to much damage, you better take care of it."
I think we are going to be hearing this line alot.
